No special preparation is needed.
Please bring any previous imaging (ultrasound, mammogram, or MRI) to assist with comparison.
How the scan is performed
- You will lie comfortably on the examination couch.
- The sonographer performs a detailed 3D breast scan, collecting a volumetric dataset.
- Elastography is then performed to assess the stiffness of any areas of concern.
- Both imaging sets are analysed together by the ultrasound specialist.
- A comprehensive report is prepared for you.
The entire combined procedure typically takes 20–30 minutes.
Limitations
- This scan does not replace mammography in women over 40.
