Full-body Plus brings together the scans most often used for health screening, and adds a breast and axilla ultrasound. The main organs and blood vessels are checked in one longer visit, with sound waves only — no needles, no radiation.
Check the thyroid for nodules or enlargement, and the neck arteries for plaque and narrowing linked to stroke risk.
Look at both breasts and the lymph nodes in the armpits for lumps, cysts and other changes.
Liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and bladder, plus screening of the abdominal aorta for an aneurysm.
Women: uterus, endometrium and ovaries (transvaginal). Men: prostate, bladder and testes (transabdominal and testicular).
Breast ultrasound and mammograms work together. Ultrasound is a helpful look at breast tissue, especially dense tissue, but it does not replace NHS breast screening when you are invited.
The Full Body Plus Ultrasound Scan is a comprehensive, non-invasive diagnostic package for both women and men. This advanced scan uses real-time ultrasound technology to assess major internal organs, soft tissues, and reproductive health, supporting early detection, routine screening, and peace of mind.
From getting ready to discussing what comes next, here is a simple guide to your appointment.
A question before you book? Call usFamily history, any lumps or symptoms, recent blood tests and medication all help the sonographer decide where to look most closely.
The sonographer works from the neck down to the pelvis, area by area. The internal (transvaginal) part for women is explained first and only done with your consent; a female chaperone is available. It takes about 60 minutes.
Findings are explained during the scan, and your written report follows within 24 hours — ready to share with your GP or specialist.

It includes everything in the Full-body scan and adds both breasts and armpits. It takes about 60 minutes rather than 40.
Yes. Men can develop breast lumps and swelling too, and the armpit lymph nodes are checked at the same time.
A transvaginal scan gives the clearest view of the uterus and ovaries, but it is always explained first and only performed with your consent. If you prefer, the pelvis can be assessed through the tummy instead.
Ultrasound can show cysts, lumps and other changes, and is a useful first look. It cannot rule out every condition, some findings need further tests, and it does not replace NHS screening such as mammograms, cervical or bowel screening.

What SWE adds to traditional ultrasound scan? Elastography offers enhanced diagnostic capabilities beyond traditional ultrasound by measuring tissue stiffness, crucial for identifying diseases like liver fibrosis or helping better differentiation between malignant and benign tumors. It provides quantitative data, allowing for early disease detection and monitoring treatment effects. Unlike traditional ultrasound, which only visualizes tissue structures, elastography adds functional information, improving accuracy in distinguishing between benign and malignant lesions. This non-invasive, painless technique improves patient comfort and reduces the need for biopsies, offering a safer, more informative diagnostic tool.
