Abdominal, Urinary Tract and Testicular Scan

An Upper Abdominal, Urinary Tract, and Testicular Scan is a highly effective, non-invasive imaging procedure designed to assess the health of key organs in the upper abdomen, urinary system, and testicles. This scan offers a detailed overview of your digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems, helping diagnose conditions early and ensuring peace of mind regarding your health.

What is an Upper Abdominal, Urinary Tract, and Testicular Scan?

This ultrasound scan is a multi-area examination that provides insight into the following systems:

  • 🔹 Upper Abdominal Organs: Liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys – assessed for liver disease, gallstones, pancreatitis, or kidney stones.
  • 🔹 Urinary Tract: Bladder, kidneys, ureters – to detect infections, blockages, or stones.
  • 🔹 Testicles: Testes, epididymis, and scrotal structures – to identify cysts, tumors, torsion, or varicoceles.

Why is This Scan Important?

This scan provides a thorough examination of three critical areas of male health. It helps identify:

  • ✔ Liver disease or gallstones causing pain or digestive issues
  • ✔ Kidney stones or blockages affecting the urinary system
  • ✔ Testicular pain, swelling, or lumps
  • ✔ Testicular torsion requiring urgent intervention
  • ✔ Varicoceles or hydrocele (fluid buildup)
  • ✔ UTIs, bladder dysfunction, or undiagnosed male fertility issues

Who Should Consider This Scan?

Men should consider this scan if they experience:

  • 🔹 Abdominal pain or discomfort
  • 🔹 Testicular pain, swelling, or a lump
  • 🔹 Frequent urination or difficulty urinating
  • 🔹 Blood in urine (hematuria)
  • 🔹 A history of gallstones, kidney stones, or urinary infections
  • 🔹 Fertility or reproductive health concerns

What to Expect During the Ultrasound

  • 🔹 Preparation: You may be asked to fast to improve visibility of the upper abdominal organs and drink water to fill your bladder.
  • 🔹 During the Scan: A water-based gel is applied to the upper abdomen, pelvic area, and scrotum. A transducer is gently moved across the skin to capture real-time images.
  • 🔹 After the Scan: You can resume normal activities immediately. A specialist will review the results and your healthcare provider will explain the findings to you.

Benefits of This Scan

  • Non-Invasive and Safe: No radiation involved – ideal for ongoing health assessments.
  • Quick and Comfortable: Completed in 30–45 minutes with no recovery needed.
  • Comprehensive Health Overview: A single scan evaluates three major health systems: digestive, urinary, and reproductive.
